Lunch was very good! Dinner not so much. Pop's salad had very green green lettuce, not tossed at all. Calamari was cold and rubbery! Staff at both meals were excellent!!
Gem of south Sarasota. Pops is the perfect paradise bar and grill to bring your family and friends. Fresh food, gorgeous view, and the staff is beyond friendly. Clean and well run establishment. Always have to swing by Pops when I visit. #keepitpoppin
It's a beautiful place on the water! It's on its own, not amongst all the other restaurants. It's a FUN atmosphere, with a live band when we went on a Saturday. So it was pretty loud. But there's also indoor seating. We had a large group but service was still great! Food wasn't bad. I'd go there more for the atmosphere than the food, but again, the food was fine.
Excellent food! Sitting outside next to the river is very nice, except the smoke from people smoking at the bar behind us. That is my only issue with this place - smoking is allowed at the bar and outside seating. We almost left before ordering, but decided to stay and eat a quick bite.
There are not a lot of options for dining in this area. Fortunately, the food at Pop's was pretty good. We ate on the porch, but if we go back we will definitely use the indoor dining room. It's clean, updated, and cozy.
