Had Babes come out when piece of piping blew on water pump. Charged $250 for 30 minutes of work and cross threaded the pressure gauge which I tried to mention but assured it would be fine. GUAGE BLEW COMPLETELY OFF 16 DAYS LATER!!! When I had them come back out they refused to guarantee any of their work and charged another 250 for again 30 minutes of work did not want to do it but had to have my pump working again.
A contractor (JOSH Fronckowiak) was recommended by Babes for remodeling of two bathrooms! He took advantage of a widow. Don't deal with Babes,if they recommend this contractor or any other without a guarantee that they will oversee the project and the specifications /drawings!
I work for a local construction business, Babes has always done great work for us. Very knowledgeable and quick to respond in emergency situations.
Complete rip off and useless techs. I needed a warrantied Rheem gas water heater serviced because it was not heating up beyond 110 degrees. So I took this plumber off the Rheem list of providers who serviced their natural gas water heaters. I explained when I made the appointment what the issue was and when the first tech showed up he jumps out of the van and said it will cost you $200 without even examining the issue. Since the builder was reimbursing me and they were on the Rheem web site I allowed him to continue. I explained three times what the issue was and what the error code was reflecting. This way there was no misunderstanding why he was there. All this tech did was drain the tank. He claimed he could not find the exact problem. So when I quizzed him about the next steps he encouraged me to call Rheem and they would know what part to order. I asked which part and he could not provide the answer. Of course he was completely wrong. I called back to complain to the dispatcher about the lack of any service and he said the call was not placed as a service call. I further explained to him that I walked the tech through the issue so that was BS. The service agreed to send out a second tech who was almost as bad. His explanation was for me to write down the error code call Rheem and they will contact this vendor to replace. Wrong again. Rheem said there were more than one cause of the error code and that simply repeating the code would not suffice. The Rheem customer service rep was actually pretty good in walking through the possible issues and agreed the tech from the plumbing company should have gotten me out of the middle and they would have walked him through the trouble shooting. I am now using a different plumber who is half the cost and when I quizzed them it was very apparent they would know how to proceed because they quoted back what the Rheem customer service agent said how the call should be handled. This does not say much for Rheem quality control but Babes plumbers are clearly neither professional or competent.
We had issues with out Master Bath shower pressure since our home was built new in 2014 by Neal Communities. Neal's sub-contracted plumber was on-site no less than 5 times at our request to "fix" the problem..........nothing got done. We finally gave up. After almost four years of putting up with the problem, I called Babe's in Venice. That is when I first met Kelly Jackson - a FIRST CLASS service tech from Babes. Unlike our prior experiences with Neal, he took the time to research and understand the problem. He contacted Moen about the problem shower valve and the parts it would take to fix the problem, while learning that the valve was no longer in production. Undeterred, he took the time to understand the problem and fixed it and a related hot water service line issue. Could not be happier.If you want something fixed and fixed correctly - call Babe's and ask for Kelly Jackson - game over.
